Portugal. The Man

So if you've never heard of these kids, you really should have paid more attention. A good starting point is either Church Mouth or Satanic Satanist. These guys really don't fit into a genre very easily. Early on they were very electronic, but their modern music sounds more like poppy southern rock. Censored Colors sounds like Reggae. Just download some and try it out.

Efterklang - Performing Parades (2009)

Ok, so imagine the biggest sound you can imagine. Now make it bigger. Now add more horns. You might be about half-way to what Efterklang is like. When you take a few brilliant danish vocalists, add in a full band, back it all with some ambient electronics, and make it all sound like the most awe-inspiring moment of every adventure movie you've ever seen, you get this album. It's a live album played with the help of the Danish National Chamber Orchestra. This album is honestly so beautiful that I have problems doing other things while listening to it.
